The White Oak Martial Arts Center

"Those who have visited our site in the past, may remember the quixotic story of the construction of the original dojo on acreage next to the house that I owned.

Well, I moved, and we had to do it again. A map to the new location of the dojo can be found here

The new dojo is slightly different from the last, as it is a smaller 'footprint', so to speak, but is two stories (well, 1 1/2) tall.

I had the basic foundation work done by professional contractors, but the actual building construction was done done by myself and a small crew of students.

Though the new dojo is now operational, it is, of course in a permanent state of construction. (In other words, a new quixotic story! Visit often, and see what transpires!)"

- Dan Sharp Sensei

Like the original dojo, the floor is sprung wood. I attempted a modified design, but I don't feel that that it is superior to the original design based on medieval Scandanavian sleighs. Plans for the original floor continue to be available - follow this link for info!).
